Hello

Hello all. Happy New Year to everyone. I wanted to send out an announcement introducing myself to those members who may not know me. I am the newly elected representative for the LANP Board of Directors in our area. I appreciate those of you whom voted for me and look forward to representing this area for the next 2 years. There are a ton of issues that remain in limbo with the latest attempt by the LA Medical Association to alter our collaborative practice guidelines. I am confident we will maintain our level of practice and hopeful to even expand it with the continued support of our members. Please stay up to date on the issues at hand and I promise to do my best to keep everyone current on the issues. I am planning dinner meetings as we speak and would like comments/suggestions from all of you in regards to topics that would be of interest. Please send those to me by email (gene.bergeron@cardio.com) or call me @ 985-855-4831. Also please update your accounts as I know some of you have new emails. This will assist in obtaining the correct information in a timely manner. If you have any reps that would like to sponsor talks, just give them my contact information as well. Also, please know that the LANP is a non-profit organization and our managing budget is soley dependent on our member's dues. Try to stay current on your dues and encourage all NP's you know and work with to join. The more members we have the stronger we can be. I must admit that I haven't always done so myself, however when you have people that want to attack your profession you begin to pay attention. I got the point loud and clear! Our LANP conference wil be in Shreveport this year October 8th-11th. Once again, the more people we have that attend the stronger our voice will be. We have also begun to accept names of speakers. If you or someone you know would like to speak then send me their contact information. Lastly, if a rep or institution that you know, etc. would like to be a sponsor of our conference send me their contact information and we will handle the rest.
